New convertible with innovative roof system to be launched in 2006

At the Geneva motor show in March this year, Volkswagen aroused great interest with the unveiling of the Concept C, the advanced design study four-seater Volkswagen convertible. Concept C, a combined coupe and convertible with an innovative folding steel roof, can be converted from a coupe to an exclusive open-top car in just a few seconds.

The standard production version, based on this design study four-seater Volkswagen convertible, is to be manufactured in the "Volkswagen Autoeuropa - Automóveis Lda." factory in Portugal.

The market launch of this convertible, which is positioned between the Golf and the Passat, is scheduled for the first quarter of 2006.

The Volkswagen factory in Palmela "Volkswagen Autoeuropa - Automóveis Lda." is one of Europe's most modern car manufacturing plants. Approximately 3,100 staff are employed in this factory.
